Community Education Opportunities

This year we have two community education opportunities, both starting at Skagit Valley College's Ford Hall Room 102.

            1. PHC Tour, noon- 1 p.m.: We will provide one tour of PHC (while maintaining respect and confidentiality for guests) for elected officials,                         jurisdictions’ staff, and event sponsors beginning noon a.m. and noon at the Multipurpose Room of the SVC Cardinal Center. You will see the                 main PHC Guest Intake at the Cardinal Center main door on the south side of the building, so please proceed to the Multipurpose Room door              on the north side of the building. During the tours, participants learn about local services, the surprising diversity of people experiencing                         homelessness, and community collaborations to end homelessness.

            2. Finding Solutions to the Housing Shortage, 1 p.m. -2 p.m.: Join us for a special presentation on Housing Hope’s Twin Lakes Landing                         Project which opened December of 2017. Come learn about how this pre-fabricated container housing project, built in Idaho, was able to be                 placed in Marysville. Julie Blazek, Partner with HKP Architecture will be speaking about how the project came to be. Housing Hope will also                     be on hand to talk about their vision and what other housing projects they have in store. For more information contact Joan Penney,                                 Community Action Development at 360 588-5720.

Please let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for all the ways you and our cities, county and state are helping to care for our most vulnerable neighbors!
